Privacy Policy

Throttle · Last updated: June 29, 2026

Throttle ("we," "us") is an engagement tool that helps Instagram creators manage comments on their own posts. This policy explains what data we access, how we use and protect it, and how you can delete it. By connecting your Instagram account, you agree to this policy.

What we access

When you connect your Instagram professional account through Facebook Login for Business, with your permission we access:

We do not access accounts you do not own, your direct messages, or any data beyond the permissions you grant.

How we use it

On your behalf and according to the rules you configure, we use this data to like genuine comments, hide spam or abusive comments, draft and (optionally) post replies, auto-answer questions that match your knowledge base, identify your most engaged followers, and generate your engagement analytics and weekly digest. Every action occurs only on your own posts and mirrors what you could do manually in Instagram. You can change the behavior or pause it at any time, and you can disconnect at any time.

How we store and protect it

Your data is stored in Amazon Web Services (our infrastructure provider) in the United States. Your access token is encrypted at rest using AWS Key Management Service and is never stored in plaintext or written to logs. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or other third parties. Our staff cannot view your comment content by default; any support access requires a logged, time-limited session, and you are notified.

Retention

Engagement activity is retained for up to 90 days and then automatically deleted. Your access token is retained only while your account is connected. When you disconnect, or on a deletion request, we delete your token and associated data.

How to delete your data

You can delete your data at any time by:

We also honor Meta's Data Deletion Request callback. On request we delete your account record, configuration, activity history, and stored fan data.

Third parties

We use Amazon Web Services to host and process data on our behalf, and we integrate with the Meta/Instagram platform to provide the service. We do not share your data with any other parties.

Children

Throttle is not directed to anyone under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy and will revise the date above. Material changes will be communicated through the app.
